The Needles Pub Alvaston

A well-known pub in Alvaston has re-opened after a £50,000 refurbishment.
The Needles in Bembridge Drive has got all-new furniture and a new layout to make room for a dancefloor.
There's also a new projector screen for Sky Sports and the floors have been replaced.
Husband and wife landlords Trevor and Melanie Jenkinson took over the pub in late 2017 and have been eagerly awaiting the revamp, which has been paid for by owners New River.
Mr Jenkinson, who also works at Rolls-Royce, said the changes had made the pub much more attractive.
The X-shaped brick benches have been removed to make way for this open area.
He said: "People have come in for Sunday dinner and they've said that it's a lot brighter.
"It's a much friendlier and warmer place now - somewhere that people can enjoy food and entertainment throughout the week."
The pub previously had an X-shaped brick bench structure in the middle of the building which, Mr Jenkinson said, made the place feel smaller and closed-off.
This has now been removed so that the area can be used as a dancefloor during gigs, which the pub hosts most weekends.
Mr Jenkinson said: "Now you can see from one side of the bar to the other. Before you would have to walk around the whole pub to see your mate."
The landlords have spent thousands of their own money to replace all the furniture.
The couple have also invested around £3,000 of their own money to buy new furniture for the pub. Mrs Jenkinson works full time at the Needles while Mr Jenkinson also works with turbine blades at Rolls-Royce.
They have also started serving breakfasts in addition to Sunday dinners. A ten-item breakfast, available from 10am between Monday and Friday, costs £3.50. A 20-item breakfast costs £5.50.
Sunday dinners, on sale between 1pm and 4pm, cost £5 for a standard size, and £7.50 for a large. Children and pensioners pay £3.50.
